Dr Jeremy Hayllar
Jeremy Hayllar is Clinical Director of the Alcohol and Drug Service of Northside Health Service District in Brisbane, a position he has held since 2004, and an Associate Professor with the School of Medicine, University of Queensland. His career began when after completing his studies at Birmingham University Medical School (UK), he trained in general medicine and gastroenterology in London where he completed research for on the GI effects of NSAIDs. Looking for a change, Jeremy then spent 10 years from 1992 as Director of Medical Services and general physician at Mt Isa Hospital.
Dr Mark Daglish
Dr Mark Daglish graduated in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh and completed his basic Psychiatry training in South East Scotland. In 1998 he moved to Bristol as a Lecturer in the Psychopharmacology Unit, Bristol University. In 2007 Dr Daglish emigrated to Brisbane to take up the post of Senior Lecturer in Addiction Psychiatry at the University of Queensland and Director of Addiction Psychiatry at Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. Dr Daglish has had a professional interest in the alcohol and drug field since his undergraduate years, when he undertook an elective placement in a detoxification unit in West Berlin. His research career has focused on the use of functional neuro-imaging to understand the neurobiology of Addiction.

DANA conference update
The DANA Conference 2009 is rapidly approaching and the program is now available for download. You can download the program directly from the conference website www.danaconference.com.au.
The conference boasts 30 speakers across a diverse range of topics including liver health; future innovations and challenges; and family health. In addition, the program will offer two interactive workshops providing delegates with opportunities to learn from sessions that are both educational and highly practical.
The DANA Conference is an ideal opportunity to learn more about highly relevant topics that are specific to the drug and alcohol nursing industry; and to network with like-minded colleagues from Australia and New Zealand. There will also be multiple conference supporters on hand in the Trade Area to discuss some of the latest industry products, services and initiatives.
Casual Opportunities for Tutors / Markers
Expressions of interest are invited from Registered Nurses who are interested in opportunities to support the work of the The College of Nursing with casual tutoring and/or marking across all nursing specialty areas in both the graduate certificate programs and for stand alone Distance Education subjects.

Course fees: $4,500 for students living in Australia
Course dates: 20 July 2008 – 9 July 2009
The course consists of four subjects studied over twelve months by distance education, participation in on-line activities, support from your tutor and the option to attend some on-campus workshops. The four subjects to be completed are:
