Job Opportunity RN – David Martin Place – Robertson (NSW)

An opportunity exists for a registered nurse to work at David Martin Place, located in Roberson.

David Martin Place (DMP) is a new youth specific drug and alcohol detox facility that will assist young people aged 16-24 who are looking to turn their lives around. This is a 28-day program with ten monitored rooms, ensuite bathrooms and 24/7 active supervision. It not only aims to help young people to withdraw from drug use, but also offers counselling and other support to increase the chances of long term results.

DMP will involve a 28-day residential withdrawal program. The five core program elements can be summarised as follows: 1) Medical detoxification (withdrawal management), 2) Case management, 3) Counselling program, 4) Family and carers program, 5) Community support (‘Aftercare’)

You will work across a seven day a week, rotating roster. Shift penalties apply.

Clinical Research Nurse – Melbourne

The Clinical Research Nurse will join a team of research fieldworkers and nurses to conduct nurse led clinical research in community and outreach settings involving interviews, liver fibrosis assessment and blood sample collection from participants with histories of injecting drug use and other at-risk populations in studies currently being undertaken at the Burnet Institute.

The main focus for this position will be The Hepatitis C Treatment and Prevention (TAP) Study: Hepatitis C treatment for people who inject drugs in a community–based setting using a social network approach.

This position is initially funded for a period of 12 month during which time you will conduct interviews with, and collect blood samples from study participants, manage data collection as well as participate in the wider activities of the Burnet Institute.

Clinical Trials Nurse (Drug and Alcohol)- Sydney

A vacancy exists for a highly motivated Clinical Trials Nurse with appropriate knowledge and skills to join this friendly and supportive team.

The successful applicant will be expected to be able to coordinate established clinical trials at St Vincent’s Centre for Applied Medical Research – Clinical Research Program in the Drug and Alcohol Research group. This will be a multi-site NHMRC funded clinical trial in methamphetamine research.

Recruiting – Clinical Nurse Consultant – Ingleburn NSW

This is a Permanent Full Time position  within the South Western Sydney Local Health District

This Clinical Nurse Consultant – Grade 1 (CNC1) sits within the Whole Family Team. The Whole Family Team (WFT) is a newly established Tier 4 specialist outreach service for parents or carers with Drug and Alcohol use and or Mental Health problems. This team aims is to improve early intervention, standard of care and outcomes for children and young people and or prevent children being placed in OOHC by working with parents/carers to improve family functioning and relationships. Service delivery will be consistent with Trauma Informed Care, Recovery and Strength based principals. Interventions will be informed by evidence based practice frameworks for working with addiction.

As a Clinical Nurse Consultant and member of the team the CNC1 helps to ensure that parents or carers referred to the WFT have prompt access to support and specialist drug health care. This is achieved through direct contact with consumers, family and or carers and through clinical care coordination, support, education and consultation with healthcare colleagues.

The Kirby Institute UNSW currently has an exciting opportunity for several Research Nurses/Officers to join their team. Full-time and part-time positions are available, located at NSW correctional centres in western Sydney, Lithgow or Goulburn.

In this role, the successful candidates will be responsible for the site coordination of the SToP-C study including patient management at a designated NSW correctional centre(s). The position will involve direct contact with male and/or female prisoners on a daily basis for screening and clinical management of hepatitis C, as well as interaction with Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network (JH&FMHN) and Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) staff.

We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses to join WHOS’ multidisciplinary team at our Rozelle campus to be part of a new and exciting initiative overseeing the management of low to moderate withdrawal needs of clients entering the Rozelle programs. These positions will report to and be supported by the WHOS Nurse Manager.

Experience in assessment and referral with an emphasis on withdrawal management and referral pathways is desired. This position will monitor low to moderate withdrawal needs of clients’ onsite at the WHOS Rozelle campus and liaise with community withdrawal management services located within the Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network region.

Remuneration negotiable based on experience and qualifications under the negotiated pay rate in line with the NSW Public Health Award with terms and conditions under the Nurses Award 2010.
