I am delighted to introduce myself to you as the Drug and Alcohol Nurses of Australasia (DANA) President and to invite you to Melbourne, for the 2012 DANA conference, which is themed In the Age of Complexity. The theme of this conference is both timely and significant. It provides an opportunity to share our experiences and research when working with complex cases, raising awareness of the new substances that are becoming evident in our communities, and how we can develop our workforce to cope in today’s changing climate.
I invite you to consider submitting an abstract for an oral presentation or poster, and to plan your diary around this event. A conference like this is not only for existing DANA members, but for anyone with an interest in sharing their knowledge and experience in working with drug and alcohol issues. Join us to share your knowledge and experience with a group of clinicians who are supportive and passionate about working in this interesting field. This conference will bring together nurses and other allied health professionals from all types of settings.
DANA welcomes your involvement in the 2012 DANA conference and encourages you to present some of your work and research to enable this event to be our most memorable ever! Please join us as we all work collaboratively to articulate the clinical expertise and unique skills of Drug and Alcohol Nurses for all nurses and midwives. I look forward to welcoming you in Melbourne in June 2012.
