Through November in place of the annual conference APSAD is holding a series of webinars. The series has been convened by Prof Leanne Hides with input from APSAD’s members through subcommittees and special interest groups. The Webinar Series will include the annual APSAD Awards presentation ceremony, with the APSAD Early Career Awardee Cheneal Puljevic presenting on Missed opportunities to reduce tobacco smoking among people who experience incarceration or homelessness.
Professor Wayne Hall deliver a keynote oration Retrospections of a Recovering Drug Researcher.
The ASCP-SIG have put together the annual Australasian Smoking Cessation Professionals Update Day with two 1-hour webinars. Professor Tom Calma AO will provide an Overview of the Indigenous Tobacco Strategy, and Dr Raglan Maddox takes a look at the continuing downward trend within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander smoking rates, amongst other great speakers and topics.
The APSAD 2020 Webinar Series concludes with two sessions on COVID-19 and the impact it has had on people who use drugs and clinicians.
All webinars are free, APSAD members will have priority on registration, along with access to all the webinars from the end of November via the Members’ Portal.
