Ashburn Clinic Addiction Programme Clinical Leader
This is a part-time position (up to a maximum of 0.5 FTE) in addition to clinical involvement in other aspects of the Ashburn Clinic psychotherapeutic programme (total FTE a minimum of 0.8 FTE, but preferably 1.0 FTE). This will be primarily be day-time shifts (8.30 am to 5 pm). Based in Dunedin New Zealand.
We are seeking someone with specialised knowledge and experience in the assessment and treatment of addictions to lead and oversee our Addiction Programme. This programme has been operating for ten years and is fully integrated into the main Ashburn therapeutic community programme.
Ashburn Clinic is a residential democratic therapeutic community that provides assessment and treatment of private and government-funded patients, with a focus on working psychotherapeutically in groups with people who have a range of mental health and addiction problems.
The successful applicant could either be an experienced Registered Comprehensive/Mental Health Nurse or Allied Health Professional (psychologist, psychotherapist/counsellor, occupational therapist) who has full registration with their appropriate professional Board.
It is essential they have considerable experience in working with people with addictions and co-existing mental illness (including anxiety and mood disorders, significant trauma and personality disturbance). We envisage involvement in the Addiction Programme to be up to 0.5 FTE, with the remainder including involvement in other parts of Ashburn Clinic’s psychotherapeutic programme. The focus of this will be negotiable according to the successful applicant’s training and experience.
We are seeking someone with maturity, a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills to join our multi-disciplinary clinical team. They will have proven leadership and organisational skills, and experience in working psychotherapeutically in groups, as well as with individuals. They will need to have some familiarity in working from a number of therapeutic modalities (including cognitive-behavioural, psychodynamic), and within a psycho-educational framework.
