DANA Membership Scholarships

DANA is funding 20 scholarships exclusively available to DANA members to support a full 3-day registration to help our AOD nurses and midwives to attend our Annual Conference on the Gold Coast from 6-8 August 2025.
Applications are now open.

Eligibility Criteria and Requirements

• Applicants must be a current full financial member of DANA and have been so for a minimum of 12 months prior to the closing date of the application (May 13, 2025).
• Successful applicants agree to remain a financial member of DANA for the duration of the conference.
• Scholarship funding is for a full 3-day registration to attend the DANA Conference.
• Successful applicants will need to fund their travel and accommodation through other financial means. 
• A scholarship sub-committee, determined by the DANA Board, will undertake assessment of the applications. This sub-committee will make recommendations to the DANA Board and the decision regarding eligible recipients will be final. 

Applications close Tuesday 13 May 2025, 5pm AEST

Successful applicants will be advised within two weeks of the closing date of applications.

NSW Ministry of Health Scholarships

The NSW Ministry of Health, Centre for Alcohol and Other Drugs, has kindly granted DANA with the funds to support a number of scholarships for NSW nurses, midwives and other health professionals to attend the DANA 2025 Annual Conference on the Gold Coast on the 6th - 8th August 2025.

NSW AOD nurses and midwives, particularly in the early years of their AOD career and/or those living in regional and rural areas are strongly encouraged to apply. 

Eligibility Criteria and Requirements

Successful applicants must:

• Reside and work in New South Wales in the health sector working with people who use alcohol or other drugs. Funding will be shared across regional and rural NSW applicants and is not open to applications from the Sydney metro area.
• Register and attend for the full 3-day conference 
• Maintain receipted evidence of scholarship expenditure.
• Agree to their name being published on the DANA website, eblast or in other DANA communications.
• Each Scholarship provides $1,000 to go towards Conference registration and associated travel and accommodation. Applicants must fund any additional cost for their attendance to the Conference.
• A Scholarship sub-committee, determined by the DANA Board of Management Committee, will undertake assessment of the applications. This sub-committee will make recommendations to the DANA Board of Management. The decision of the DANA Board of Management is final.

Queensland Health Scholarships

Queensland AOD nurses and midwives, particularly in the early years of their AOD career and/or those living in regional and rural areas are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to nurses who are early in their nursing career, First Nations nurses, nurses living and working in rural and remote locations in Queensland and may include some support for nurses living and working on the Gold Coast. 

Eligibility Criteria and Requirements

• Successful applicants must reside and work in Queensland in the health sector either specialising in AOD or with an interest in AOD nursing.
• Successful applicants must agree to their name being published on the DANA website, eblast or in other DANA communications.
• Scholarships will be provided as a direct payment to the successful applicants for the purpose of purchasing a full 3-day conference registration and any additional funds can be used to help support the cost of travel and accommodation.
• Successful applicants will be required to maintain receipted evidence of scholarship expenditure if they receive further funding to support travel and accommodation costs.
• A Scholarship sub-committee, determined by the DANA Board of Management Committee, will undertake assessment of the applications. This sub-committee will make recommendations to the DANA Board of Management. The decision of the DANA Board of Management is final.
